As building regulations and planning laws become ever more stringent, it is vitally important to ensure that your tank installation is compliant with current standards. The penalties for not installing correctly are large, and any manufacturer’s guarantee will not be honoured if the fit is not compliant.
Most manufacturers offer a 10 year guarantee on the bunded (double walled) tanks as the extra protection of a second skin ensures that on average this type of tank last well beyond 10 years.
Single skin tanks are only permissible in a few instances, and the law has gradually tightened to reduce these instances, and may well tighten still further in the future. Most manufacturers offer only a 1-2 year guarantee on these products.
